Art-o-mat machines are retired cigarette vending machines that have been converted to vend art. There are 82 active machines in various locations throughout the country.

My images appear in a shop placed on various items such as t shirts, hoodies, aprons, etc.

After my son's accident in 1984 and subsequent recovery time, I found it necessary to work through my stress and trauma. I had been working on children's stories for years and started a writer's critique group at the Walpole Town Library where I was working. In 1998 I began taking writing classes with poet Kate Gleason in Keene New Hampshire. Art became my focus once I moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1999 with morning pages keeping the stream of consciousness writing flowing.

These are short stories/rough drafts - some begun in 1998 when taking Kate Gleason's writing class in Keene, NH... some from when I first moved out to Olympia. I have been revisiting them, typing from the original writing exercise scrawl or other samples I've done.

This spring, Rainier Symphony will be auctioning Painted Violin Project creations in an online event. They will also be showcasing them at each concert series and on our website. Patrons can buy them ahead of the auction time if they do not want to take the chance of being outbid. The theme of my violin was Midsummer's Night Dream.
