Mixed Media
My mixed media work puts me mindful of the moment while expressing a deep appreciation for life and time passing; the abstraction aspect offers a whole new feeling of energy and power. By keeping an open mind and a "what if" attitude, I enjoy working to bring evolution through various techniques and applications of materials. I have no preconceived idea for the finished piece. My approach is non- analytical and I allow the imagery to “happen”. The final image evolves and emerges over time through the building up of layers and surface quality with collage, paint, gel medium and fabric. The layers and overlapping create depth, form relationships and increase texture. It's all about the process: exciting, experimental, spontaneous freedom of expression inspired by the beauty, power and mystery of life.
